Looking to improve your skills or start a new career path in Luxembourg? If you are registered with ADEM as a jobseeker, you may be able to receive financial support for professional training.
This support helps cover part of the cost of vocational training and can make it easier to access new opportunities in the job market.

Who Can Apply?
The program is open to jobseekers registered with ADEM, whether they receive unemployment benefits or not. However, in some situations, applicants must not be receiving benefits.
How Does the Support Work?
ADEM can reimburse part of your training expenses if your application is approved.
The goal is to help jobseekers gain new skills, improve employability, and return to the labour market faster.
Step 1: Speak With Your ADEM Counsellor
Before applying, you must discuss your training project with your personal ADEM counsellor during a regular appointment.
This meeting should happen at least 8 weeks before the training starts.
If your counsellor gives a positive opinion, you will receive a personal access code that allows you to submit your application online through MyGuichet.lu.
Important: The access code is personal and valid for only 2 months.
Step 2: Submit Your Application Online
The application is completed on MyGuichet.lu and does not require LuxTrust or an electronic ID.
During the application process, you will need to provide:
your access code;
your national identification number;
your personal information;
details about the training institute;
information about the course you want to attend.
Documents You Need to Prepare
To avoid delays, prepare all documents in PDF or image format before starting the application.
The required documents include:
a motivation letter explaining why you want to take the training;
a detailed quotation from the training provider containing:
- total price;
- duration of the training;
- start and end dates;
- full training program.
Depending on the course, additional documents may also be requested.
For example:
driving school documentation for licence-related training.
Important Before Starting the Training
One very important rule is:
Do not start the training before receiving official approval.
Without approval from the Ministry of Labour, no reimbursement can be granted.
Applicants must also initially pay the full training cost themselves before receiving any reimbursement.
How Much Can You Receive?
If the application is approved, ADEM may reimburse:
Up to 75% of the training costs
The reimbursement is capped at the amount of the monthly social minimum wage for unskilled workers.
Possible reimbursement of the remaining 25%
The final 25% may also be reimbursed if the applicant successfully enters the labour market after the training.
To qualify, the applicant must:
obtain a fixed-term or permanent work contract of at least 18 months;
present the contract within 3 months after completing the training.
What Happens After the Application?
After submitting the application, ADEM will review the request and send the decision by mail.
If accepted, the applicant must personally complete the registration for the training course.
Final Thoughts
Professional training can be a valuable opportunity to gain new qualifications, change careers, or improve your chances of finding employment in Luxembourg.
With financial support from ADEM, accessing quality training becomes more affordable and accessible for many jobseekers.
